2020 Legislative Calendar

Official Legislative Calendar

The 2020 Session Cutoff calendar has been adopted by both chambers.

An example of how the cutoffs work, from the HCFA-WA lobbyist:

  • February 7: Policy Bills must pass Policy Committee in Body of Origin (i.e., Keiser’s bills must pass Senate Health Care Committee)
  • February 11: Bills with costs/revenues must pass Fiscal Committees in Body of Origin (i.e., Keiser’s bills must pass Senate Ways & Means Committee)
  • February 19: Bills must pass the floor of the Body of Origin (i.e., non-fiscal bills must pass the full Senate)
  • February 28: Bills must pass Policy Committee in Opposite Body’s Policy Committee (i.e., Keiser’s bills must pass House Health Care Committee)
  • March 2: Bills with costs/revenues must pass Fiscal Committees in Opposite Body’s Fiscal Committee (i.e., Keiser’s bills must pass House Appropriations Committee)
  • March 6: Bills must pass the floor of the Opposite Body (i.e., non-fiscal bills must pass the full House)
  • March 12: Bills with costs/revenues must pass the floor of the Opposite Body
