Protect Voting Rights – Call Your Senators This Week!

0

As we face the historic battle to protect voting rights in Congress, we are up against the determined opposition of powerful corporations and their political allies in both parties.

And we face imminent threats to our very democracy from new laws in many states to suppress the vote and subvert election results – fueled by the Big Lie of a stolen election that continues to motivate the insurrectionist movement. The US Senate must change its filibuster rules in order to pass voting rights legislation. Our democracy could soon be replaced by minority rule, crippling our ability to build a more just society and to avoid the endgame of climate catastrophe. We cannot let that happen!

There is hope: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said that the Senate will bring the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act to the floor by January 17, MLK Day  — and he’s willing to carve out a filibuster exception to get them passed. We need the biggest possible outpouring of grassroots support to make sure the Senate passes these bills and stops voter suppression.

It’s now or never: We must protect voting rights. Click here to be connected to your senators and tell them to vote to pass voter protections.
