How COVID Can Cure Our Sick Health Care System

Please join us for a conversation with:

★ U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal ★
★ Colin Goldfinch, Senior Health Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Patty Murray ★
★ State Senator Joe Nguyen ★

We will hear from each of them and together they will also discuss the dual health care and economic crisis and the way forward for the US and Washington state.

  • What has COVID-19 revealed about what’s wrong with our health care system?
  • How can we use this crisis to transform the system and to guarantee access to quality and affordable health care to everyone in our country?
  • How much does economic recovery depend on overcoming the public health crisis?
  • What support does our state need from the federal government?
  • What can we do?

We were honored with a personal greeting from Representative Pramila Jayapal, WA Congressional District 7, who outlined a plan of action to make affordable health care available to everyone during the pandemic. In case you missed it, you can watch her presentation here.

Thanks to all who attended our first Zoom-only general meeting on April 20 – our largest General Meeting turnout ever. Thank you to the presenters on the health care frontlines, on the racial disparities highlighted and exacerbated by the pandemic, on WA State’s legislative session, budget, and ongoing work on health care coverage and affordability. Thanks to those who presented the calls to action which we have gathered for you here.
